King Me

"What you see is what you become."

King Me is a traveling photo-series dedicated to the likes of Black Males. Nina Wells, known in the art world as ninamdot, is an artist and photographer. ninamdot photographs black boys/men wearing a crown. The purpose of the crown is to help the viewer and the wearer explore the importance for men of color to see their value by restoring the image of the black man. The crowning of the subjects applies three elements: positive mindset, self-value and restoration. The inception of King Me started in Cincinnati, Ohio and made its first debut in February of 2016. As of date, King Me mission has reached New York, Louisville and Philadelphia.
