In this intermediate woodworking class we will learn how to make a hard wood dovetail keepsake box.

In this class you will use all the tools need to process the lumber including the jointer, planer, Table Saw and miter saw. You will be able to learn how to properly cut dovetails by hand and by bandsaw/scroll saw. The design of a small keepsake box is flexible and there are limitless ways of making it your own special box.

Each student who takes the class will be asked to bring their own wood for this project on the first day.

Wave Pool’s woodshop gets a 10 percent discount at Frank Paxton Lumber company in Madeira. All students who sign up for the class will get a follow-up email to describe what you will need wood wise for the class.

Please come to the first class with an understanding of how your design would suit your needs. Scottie can also talk individual with students in the first class to help them pin down their designs as our first class will mostly be processing the wood.
